Director of Camps and Conferences, North Indiana Conference, United Methodist Church, 1983-1988

Supervised programming and operation of five camp and conference sites in northern Indiana. Managed $11,000,000 Master Plan development. Initiated relationship with Nature Conservancy at a site with fragile wetlands. Initiated Elderhostel programming. Resolved budget deficits.

 

Consultant, Walter, Macy and Kyle, Portland, Oregon 1983 - 1985

Provided Program and Management expertise to architects in design and development of camps and centers.

 

Director, Alton L. Collins Retreat Center, Eagle Creek, Oregon 1981-1983

Supervised construction of the center, established operation and developed successful marketing approach for this new adult education facility. Initiated Elderhostel programs.

 

Executive Director of Camping, South Dakota Conference, United Methodist Church, Rapid City, South Dakota 1978-1981

Supervised program, operation, facilities of three camp sites across South Dakota.

 

Director/Manager, Storm Mountain Center, Black Hills, South Dakota 1973-1978

Facilitated a growth to quadruple the annual use. Designed and directed residential environmental education program for regional public schools. Developed interpretive programs based on Native American and Black Hills history.
